My Story

June Qualifing for Georgia Senate District 50

Why I am running

June Krise, RN, a resident of White County has qualified with the Democratic Party of Georgia to run for the Georgia Senate from  District 50.  Her district includes Banks County, Franklin  County, Habersham County, Rabun County, Stephens County, Towns County, and part of Hall,  Jackson, and White Counties.

After graduation from Kennesaw College, June practiced for over 30 years in the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse. After 12 years in regulatory services and community care Medicaid policy, June opened her own small consulting firm — Quality of Life Enterprises, Inc. She helps people start up small healthcare businesses. June and her husband, Dr. Richard Krise, moved to White County in 2001 when Dr. Krise accepted the position of principal at White County High School.  In addition to her consulting work, June is an advocate for intellectually and/or developmentally delayed adults and the elderly. She helps them and their families work through the eligibility process for the Community Care Services Program, SOURCE waivers, and DD waivers.

June and Richard have three children, five grandsons, and two granddaughters.  Two of her children live nearby — in Decatur and Hoschton – and her youngest lives in Freeport, FL .

She has worked in grassroots politics for years.  June currently serves as the 9th Congressional District Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia which encompasses 10 North Georgia Counties. She is a small business owner in the community care industry, a member of The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in White County, and an active supporter of the Arts wherever she has lived.

The early years

My father was a truck driver in Alabama before our family (my Dad, Mom, and my three sisters) moved to Georgia. My father died just after I graduated from high school, so when my children were young I would sing the songs that I had written to them. This one is about my father. It’s called “Truck Driving Man.” Many years later it was recorded by my daughter when she was in Los Angeles writing songs and recording.

THIS SONG IS DEDICATED TO ALL THE TRUCK-DRIVING MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE HAULING SUPPLIES TO THE HOSPITALS AND FOOD TO THE STORES SO WE CAN BE SAFE AND SHELTER IN PLACE! If you enjoy this song, please donate $10 (or more) to help me meet my fundraising goal. The Act Blue donation link is below. I promise I will represent the people who are just like my parents and yours — the hard-working citizens of Georgia’s House District 8.

Nursing school graduation

Moving to North Georgia

I went to nursing school at Kennesaw College after I had two children. While working as a nurse, I opened and ran my first small business–  a dance studio named “The Clogging Company.”  We put on performances all over North Georgia.  Clogging is a family-oriented business. I learned a lot about running a business, profit and loss, personnel, and serving the public. I never realized I would settle in these beautiful mountains one day.  I have included a youtube clip of The Clogging Company. The adult team was picked to be on a Disney Channel Show. SEE IF YOU CAN PICK ME AND RICHARD OUT OF THE GROUP.

After I left the State government in 2001, I started my second small business – Quality of Life Enterprises, Inc. — which I still operate. Since then I have helped hundreds of people start new community-based healthcare businesses.  Many of them are still operating and I consult with them to apply for new licenses or I may refer new clients to them.

If you enjoy the clogging, please donate $10 dollars (or more) to help me raise much-needed funds to do printing and mailings to get our message out. I promise to represent the people who are just like our families. Hardworking citizens who are working, attending college, and raising families.
